Raccoons & Skunks

Raccoons and skunks are attracted by food and garbage that has not been properly stored. If you see a skunk or a raccoon from a distance, they are fun to watch and present little threat. However, since they are nocturnal, if you should ever see one during the day, alert someone right away. When staying in tents our outdoor shelters, a raccoon or a skunk may enter if they smell food. If this happens while there are people around, leave the area and wait until the animal leaves on its own.
