It's Potty Time!
- Using public bathrooms
- Never enter a public restroom alone - bring a buddy, adults should monitor
- Use hand sanitizer (even if room has sinks)
- Using latrines
- Do not put 'unnatural' items in latrines
- Inspect latrine for 'guests' (insects, etc.) so girls don't 'freak!'
- Set up a handwashing station with hand wipes, sanitizer, and paper towels
- Be prepared with toilet paper - sites may not always provide
- 'Roughing it' - Sometimes nature calls and you have to improvise...
Instant port-a-potty kit: Empty plastic jar (mayo, etc.), sheet, wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, ziplock bags). Empty jars make decent port-a-potties for the side of the road (easier than just 'squatting'), just hold a sheet for a 'screen' for an instant 'relief station' if needed. Dump liquid and put tissue in zipper bag to dispose of later. BE SAFE - get away from the main road for privacy and safety.
